The March Edit

After what can be quite long and brutal winters, there’s nothing better than an early spring in Minneapolis. We’re so thrilled the weather has taken a major turn for the better, and knock on wood, we’ll make it through April without a snow flurry in sight.

Per usual, the changing seasons have been a driving force behind our design inspiration here at the JMI studio. We’ve been thinking a lot about what’s ahead for spring, and it’s safe to say that floral patterns are officially everywhere. Not only are they a huge design trend at the moment, but they are especially relevant this time of year. We’re seeing so many fresh patterns come onto the scene, and we wanted to kick-start our March Edit with a few floral moments that stopped us in our scroll. From wallpaper to window treatments to wall art and more, florals are coming in hot, and we are absolutely here for it.

TO WEAR

Speaking of spring, it’s time for a little wardrobe refresh around here. When I start thinking about updates to my closet, I often start by investing in a new pair of shoes each season, plus a few versatile pieces to round out my wardrobe. Over time, I’ve become a lot more picky about choosing the right pieces to curate well-made items that mix-and-match for a wide variety of looks. It’s one small step towards more sustainable practices that’s applicable to both fashion and design.

In other news, this season I'm starting to train for another marathon! Since first beginning my running journey, I've learned quite a lot, and this time around, I'm upping my gear situation. I've been a pretty minimalist runner in the past, but I've found that investing in the right gear has seriously changed the game. I'm not a running expert by any means, but these are a few things I'm loving for my longer runs.

TO LISTEN

You all know I love a good podcast series, and this month I binged Season 1 of ‘The Dream.” This series covers the often controversial world of MLM (multi-level marketing) companies and the false promises of entrepreneurship they tend to offer women. It’s a super interesting listen, and you’ll never look at Tupperware parties the same.
